As he was born into a religious family, it was natural that Tendamudzimu Dagada would follow gospel music as is the trend in the country.

Tendamudzimu, or Tenda as he is widely known in music circles, the first-born son of Bishop Isaac Dagada of the Worship House and a member of the popular gospel ensemble, took an unusual route when he released a house album. The album, Deeper Love, is fast penetrating the hearts of house-music lovers.

Released just two weeks ago, the album has become the talk of the town, with no function complete without tracks from the album being played. The 11-track album, which has strong songs like the title track, Deeper LoveForever and Stay among the good. Tracks are sung in Venda, Zulu and English. Tenda has made it clear that he will not be lost to the gospel music scene or the Worship House gospel group.

"Worship House is my home; it groomed me to become what I am today, and I will always be part of its recordings. People should not be surprised that I sing house music. Music will always be music and it must be noted that I included gospel tracks on the album. I am from a very religious family and I will never forsake my upbringing; the church is where I belong," said the law graduate.

Dagada, who started singing at school in the church choir and also at Worship House, said his aim was to touch all hearts and preach the message of love and the gospel of Jesus Christ through music. "Some love house gospel, some love African, and that is why I came up with the house album. It is making a big impact in the music industry. We entertain them while, at the same time, bringing them to the fold of God," he said.

Dagada further urged artists not go the short route to fame but to work hard and to be patient and come up with quality music.

He further indicated that he took a whole year to prepare for the album and worked with the likes of DJ Style, Eric Bongz, and Rogan Kelsely. Dagada's secret to success is to believe in oneself, ask God to help you through and to obey one's parents.
