“Everyone has a unique gift, something that is just undeniably 'you' and is precisely useful to those around you.”

Those were the words of 25-year-old Gundo Gee Ramavhoya, who was born in Khumbe village, when he was speaking about his gospel music.

Music was always his passion while he was growing up. He joined the worship team at his local church as a drummer at the tender age of nine. One day his pastor, Ms Tshifhiwa Mavhutha, asked him to lead the church in song during a Sunday service. “That moment really marked the beginning of my singing career,” he said. “At some stage I started a group, Hummer H3. We were at least seven members in that group and we were considered the best group in our area.”

In 2008, Gundo Gee had relocated to Gauteng for educational purposes since he wanted to aquire a qualification in travel and tourism. “I started to understand music on a professional level in 2010 after I was approached by a producer from Vhaswa Music Production, Khathu Muswa.”

His relationship with Vhaswa Music Production saw the recording and release of his début album, Change in my Life. “Change in my Life it was a stepping stone for great opportunities,” he said. “It was followed by Muya Wanga (My Soul), which also did well in the market.”

Gundo Gee believes that music is all about skill and he says that this gift of a singer is "an ingrained strength fuelled by my deepest passions and unwavering sense of purpose".

“Early this year I released my third solo album, entitled Mukhethwa Ndi Yehova / Holy is the Lord,” he said.It was produced by Mahlori Chauke. The album is currently trending all over social media and making waves on radio stations.”

His vision as an artist is to create music that has an appeal that goes beyond personal satisfaction. “My vision becomes the container through which my creativity takes form in the world,” he said.

“I believe it is through gospel music that many people can turn to Christianity as this country of ours needs prayers, and I am called to make all people Christ's disciples,” he said. “I am currently working hard, so that I can donate food parcels to orphans and families with poor backgrounds.”

He believes that being well informed in his musical work and having an organised strategy will help him continue to produce more intriguing work. “In my reality, I have chosen my own destiny; time and fate have confirmed that producing gospel music is my positive contribution to society,” he said.
