Radzilani wants to motivate young people

When Mulisawanga Radzilani was still young, he had a vision to motivate people. Little did he know that one day he would be influencing communities across Venda.

Radzilani (23), who hails from Muledane village, recently released a motivational book titled “Be A Student Everywhere In Life”. The book, released in June this year, motivates pupils to appreciate the importance of education. “The main objective of this book is to instil confidence in the pupils that they should be educated. In today’s world it is difficult to adapt without education,” he added.

This is Radzilani’s second book, following on the success of “Know What You Are Living For”, a book that focusses on explaining to people what their purpose in life should be. “A person should have a vision and know what life entails for him,” he said. This book was released in June 2015.

According to Radzilani, he discovered his motivational gift while he was still young. “At a young age I realised I had leadership qualities within me, because in everything I do with my friends they always wanted me to be the team leader,” he said. “My motivational gift started showing when I was still studying in Thohoyandou Secondary School. I became the best student in oral presentations and my speeches would inspire my classmates,” he added. He further said that his teachers started to encourage him to follow his dream of being a motivational speaker.

He started to motivate pupils a few years ago. “I started motivating school pupils in 2014 and many local schools believed in me and offered me a platform to change the lives of the pupils. I always had a dream of changing people’s lives and to bring hope to the hopeless. I have passion of motivating pupils and I enjoy helping them to follow their career path,” he said.

Radzilani realised that if he wanted to expand his reach, he would have to write down his thoughts and the idea of publishing it in book format was born. According to him, writing books is not about making money, but making an impact in communities across the country.

He is the founder of Love To Children Foundation, which aims to equip pupils to follow their dreams. “I help youths who also want to be authors,” he said. Recently he introduced the Students Focus Foundation, which aims to assist students in rural areas with motivational talks, career choice exhibitions and also help them with study materials.

“I am hungry to see change in the lives of young people,” he said.

Currently he is doing in-service training at Tshilidzini Hospital in order to earn his national diploma in human resource management from the Tshwane North College.

Mbulaheni Ridovhona

The 22-year-old Mbulaheni (Gary) Ridovhona has been passionate about journalism to the extent that he would buy himself a copy of weekly Univen students' newsletter, Our Voice. After reading, he would write stories about his rural village, Mamvuka, and submit them to the very newsletter for publication.
