Community only receives water once a week

For more than a decade residents of the Tshithuthuni Village in Nzhelele have been experiencing severe water shortages.

Their dream of water for all was short lived, however, when brand new boreholes failed to function properly.

Now the community is depended on a single tap that only provides water once a week on Thursdays. The Limpopo Mirror spoke to Mr Thinavhuyo Malese, a concerned community member, who indicated that they have tried countless times to get answers from the Department of Water Affairs and their ward councillor - but to no avail.

Asked for comment, Mrs Nompie Phalanndwa (Thulamela Municipality’s councillor for ward 28) said she is in no position to comment on the matter.
