Match a walkover

While other Sasol Women’s League teams had to sweat for league points over the past weekend, the situation was totally different for Chippas Ladies FC.

The Makwarela-based side received three league points without kicking the ball. Chippas were supposed to have played against Merwe Ladies FC at the Makwarela Stadium on Saturday. Chippas, together with the match officials, waited on the pitch for the arrival of Merwe, to no avail.

Realizing that Merwe were nowhere to be seen after the 15:00 scheduled kick-off time, Referee Khamusi Razwimisani blew the final whistle, declaring a walkover for Chippas.
