Madodonga United through to next stage of Western Challenge

Madodonga United proceeded to the next stage of the Western Soccer Challenge, when they beat Midoroni Real Hearts 7-6 at the Kutama grounds on Sunday.

The two teams played to 1-all draw and the winner was determined by a penalty shoot-out.

Hearts were good at the far back, but their midfielders hesitated for too long and did not release the ball on time. This sloppy performance put the defence under tremendous pressure. The boys from Madodonga initiated some promising moves from the centre of the pitch, but were denied a number of scoring opportunities by the defenders of Real Hearts.

The players who went to the referee’s book for different infringements are Rudzani Khalushi of Hearts and Given Netshithuthuni of United.

Calvin Tshivhulawa of United scored his team's goal in the 34th minute. He unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box and beat the opponents' keeper easily. Hearts approached the second half like a house on fire. They threatened to score in the early minutes when Moses Mabeba forced his way through the defence and passed the ball to Nditsheni Sikwari. His attempt missed the target.

Moses Manage of United managed to outwit the opponents and released a rocket from outside the box, to make the score 1-1.
