Can Witbank Spurs stop Black Leopards?

Thohoyandou Stadium will be the place to be tomorrow afternoon. That is where the much-awaited National First Division League match between Black Leopards and Witbank Spurs will be played.

Witbank Spurs should regard themselves lucky if by chance they manage to go back home with a draw. Black Leopards are unstoppable of late. They are still to lose a match under the guidance of their newly appointed head coach, Mr Zeca Marques.

Marques guided Lidoda Duvha to three victories in a row so far, two in league matches while the other one was a Nedbank Cup match, where they brutally walloped FC Cape Town 6-2 at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday.

It will be time for Leopards to avenge the 0-2 defeat they suffered at the hands of Spurs in their first-round league match at the Puma Rugby Stadium five months ago. It remains to be seen whether the Spurs’ defenders, Humphrey Khoza and Joel Skhosana, will have the capacity to stop the Leopards goal poachers, Sanele Mkhize, Leonard Ntshangase and Ruggert Nyundu.

According to the spokesperson of Black Leopards, Mr Berry Ramunenyiwa, admission tickets for the game are available at Computicket and no tickets will be sold at the stadium. Black Leopards will play against Baroka FC at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane next Wednesday afternoon, 4 March.

Other NFD league matches for tomorrow are: FC Cape Town vs Jomo Cosmos, Thanda Royal Zulu vs Maluti FET College, African Warriors vs Lamontville Golden Arrows, Milano United vs Garankuwa United, Royal Eagles vs Santos and Highlandspark vs Baroka. The only match to be played this afternoon will be between Cape Town All Stars and Vasco da Gama at the Philipi Stadium in Cape Town.

The other fixtures for next Wednesday are: Santos vs Lamontville Golden Arrows, Jomo Cosmos vs African Warriors, Witbank Spurs vs Milano United, Garankuwa United vs FC Cape Town, Vasco da Gama vs Highlandspark, Royal Eagles vs Thanda Royal Zulu and Maluti FET College vs Cape Town All Stars.
