NFD leaders drop valuable points

 

Last weekend was one the two leading NFD teams, Lamontville Golden Arrows and Jomo Cosmos, both unexpectedly dropped league points.

Pace setters, Golden Arrows, were held to a draw by African Wanderers in Phutaditshaba. Arrows were lucky to go back hom with a point in hand as Warriors were awarded a penalty towards the end of the first half. Striker Freddy Skhosana shot wide from the white spot. Cosmos, shared the spoils with FC Cape Town. They played to a 1-1 draw in Cape Town.

Thanda Royal Zulu pushed Maluti FET College deeper into the relegation quagmire when they beat them 2-1 in Richardsbay. Milano United shared the glory with Garankuwa United (2-2) in Cape Town.

Royal Eagles used their home-ground advantage to beat Santos 2-1 at the King Zwelithini Stadium and Baroka FC beat Highlandspark 2-1 in Thembisa.

Back home, Black Leopards collected full points by beating Witbank Spurs 2-1 at the Thohoyandou Stadium. In their Cape Town derby at the Philipi Stadium on Saturday, Cape Town All Stars beat Vasco da Gama 2-1.
