Iyarunga too strong for Tshikota Chelsea

Makhitha Iyarunga beat Tshikota Chelsea 2-0 in an MMK Administrators' League match at Makhitha on Sunday.

It took Iyarunga only five minutes to stamp their authority on the game. Their overlapping midfielder, Ashean Monyeoleto, capitalized on a defensive error by Chelsea defenders and blasted in a rocket from close range. The keeper of United, Thulare Mhlanga, watched helplessly as the ball crossed the goal line.

Iyarunga’ goal was an insult to the players of Chelsea. They created a number of clear chances, but their strikers caused numerous upsets by fumbling at the goal finish. The goalkeeper of Iyarunga, Elikani Nemabaka, was the top performer for the better part of the game. He repeatedly made fine saves to frustrate the attackers. Chelsea missed a fortune towards the end of the first half.

The halftime score was 1-0 in favour of Iyarunga.

The Tshikota side had two clear chances in the 47th and 49th minute.  Gift Ndou received a neat pass from Khotho Ramabulana within the box and unleashed a half volley. The shot did not give the Iyarunga keeper, Elikani Nemabaka, any headaches, as there was not enough power behind the ball.  Their giant attacker, Thabelo Musenwa, committed a similar blunder, following a square pass from Advice Nyadzani.

Iyarunga scored again in the 75th minute. Their speedy midfielder, Ashean Monyeoleto, completed his brace to score his team's second goal.

Later in the match, Thabelo Musenwa of Chelsea was red carded for a second bookable offence.
