R60 000 for schools sports tournaments

The primary and secondary netball and secondary schools knock-out competition was launched during a meeting with the teams at Mashau on Saturday.

The tournament will cater for 11 primary schools and five secondary schools and will be sponsored by Mujayeli Security and Tshipembe Company, who donated R60 000 towards the competition.

Mr Pat Madavhu of Tshipembe has indicated that his company is ploughing back what it gained from the community. “It is through the support from the community that this business is where it is today,” he added. He also congratulated school sports for developing the talent of the youth around the area.

Chief Mashau Magweni praised the two companies for channelling part of their income towards football and netball development. He appealed to the club's officials to work hard towards producing players who will feature in the various national teams.

The winner of the netball and soccer will each win numerous prizes. Several individual achievers will also receive prizes at the end of the tournament.
