Stream D champions Tshakhuma RO United.

Promotional play-off matches on cards

The final matches of the MMK Administrators League were played over the past weekend. The champions of the nine streams are now gearing up for the promotional play-off matches, which are scheduled to kick off over the next weekend (27 and 28 June).

Only teams from two streams, D and F, were busy over the past weekend, while the rest of the streams had wrapped up their league activities a fortnight ago.

Although they failed to collect maximum points in their away match against Rockers FC at the Makwarela Stadium on Sunday, Tshakhuma RO United have reason to celebrate. They are the Stream D champions, thanks to Tshakhuma Na Ndilani FC, who beat the other title chasers, Maweja Takers FC, 2-1 at the Tshakhuma Mulangaphuma grounds. RO United and Maweja Takers were separated by goal difference before Sunday's matches, as they were tied on 82 points each.

Wayeni Sea Robbers are the Stream F champions. Makovha All Stars will represent Stream A in the promotional play-offs, while Mukula Young Santos will be the Stream B ambassadors.

The champions from the other streams are: Mpheni Home Defenders (E), Rabali Pull Together (G), Muswodi Happy Fighters (H), United Artists (C) and Ficus FC (I). The overall winner in the promotional play-off matches will receive a cash prize of R35 000 and a floating trophy during a prize-giving ceremony that will be held on a date still to be announced.

Apart from the fabulous prizes, the overall champion will represent Vhembe Region in the provincial promotional play-off matches that will be hosted by the Waterberg District early next month. Vhembe Region was represented by Mukula Young Santos during the provincial promotional play-off matches at the Giyani Stadium. Unfortunately, Santos did not make the grade in the two-day tournament.
