Seven Vhembe players in Limpopo team

 

The provincial U/17 soccer team was named after the trials were conducted at the stadium of the University of Venda on Sunday. Although all five regions were represented during the trials, only three regions managed to produce players on the final list.

Ten of the eighteen players are from the Capricorn District, seven from Vhembe and one is from the Waterberg. It was also announced that Mr Samuel Letsoalo will be the team’s head coach. The former coach of Basel FC, Mr Justice Mutileni, is the manager.

The players that will represent the province are: Given Machaba, Malesela Kwebu, Tebatso Nkambule, Jerod Rametse, Phuti Moloto, Albert Machete, Terrance Molokomme, Cassius Mailula, Casius Mabotja, Jim Mashaphu (all from Capricorn), Nndweleni Mutsweni, Emmanuel Ramalata, Cassius Thopola, Khutso Mafichi, Kingsley Mashamba, Andy Mulaudzi and Oska Ngobeni (from Vhembe) and Silas Setumu from the Waterberg.

The team will represent Limpopo in the national tournament that will be staged in three month's time.
