Defenders hold Dynamos to a draw

Gogobole Home Defenders played to a 2-all draw against Tshiozwi Dynamos during the round-robin tournament at the Gogobole grounds last Sunday.

Defenders played entertaining football from the onset, but their strikers were unlucky. Petrus Mahosi, the Defenders' right flank, missed an opportunity in the 10th minute. After he beat two defenders in a row, he shot aimlessly from inside the box. The ball went far wide, much to the disappointment of the team’s fans.

Defenders were the first to effect a change to their original line-up. They introduced Eugene Ramusheu and sacrificed Ndivhuwo Sikhwivhilu in the 27th minute. Shortly thereafter, the referee flashed his first yellow card. Maisha Tshishonga of Defenders was warned for a late tackle on Domenic Mafuleni.

Dynamos' Andries Masingi opened their account in the 40th minute to bring the half-time score to 1-0.

Early in the second half, Defenders lost shape in the middle of the park. They were severely punished and Dynamos increased the margin via Botie Ramabulana. His long-range ground cutter was too hot for the keeper, Mabuli Gedezha,  to handle.

Defenders did not lose hope, despite trailing by two goals. They initiated promising moves from behind. They reduced the deficit when Tshishonga Tshishonga beat the keeper with a volley. Khuli Ramudzwangi and Mpho Malema of Dynamos were cautioned with a card for rough play, and Defenders scored the equalizer via Tshishonga late in the game.
