Unfortunate defeat for Black Leopards

 

After registering two consecutive victories, Black Leopards lost their first league match under the guidance of Coach Sello Chokoe when they lost 1-3 to Cape Town All Stars at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday.

Leopards were the first to find the net, but their original fighting spirit faded with time. Their solitary goal came in the ninth minute via Bongani Manana. He dribbled past two defenders in a row and blasted in a ground cutter. Igugu Lekapa were on even terms in the 19th minute when Mlungisi Mbunjana headed home after a corner kick.

Sizo Mzindiso scored the second for the home side in the 65th minute. Thokozani Sekotlong curled in a superb strike five minute later to ensure his side collected three points and three goals in the game.

Highlandspark beat Milano United 1-0 at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa to move to the top of the log with 52 points, two ahead of Baroka FC. The only goal in the game came in the 84th minute via their veteran striker, Jemaine Christian.

Vasco da Gama shared the spoils with Witbank Spurs, following their 1-1 draw at the Parow Park Stadium in Cape Town. Vasco were the first to find the net via Alcardo van Graan in the 18th minute. The visitors from Mpumalanga retaliated nine minutes larer, when Cleopas Dube beat the keeper with a ground cutter.

Moroka Swallows moved a step up on the log after beating Mbombela United 1-0 at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit. Swallows are in the 15th spot. Edwin Sitayitayi scored the goal that made the difference.

Mthatha Bucks played to a 1-1 draw with FC Cape Town at the Mthatha Stadium. Eden Nene scored for Cape Town while Bucks found the equalizer via Petros Ngebo. Royal Eagles kept their title hopes alive by beating Santos 4-0 at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. African Warriors and Amazulu played to a goalless draw.
