Will Amazulu pay for Leopards’ defeat?

It remains to be seen whether Black Leopards will make Amazulu pay for the 1-3 defeat they suffered at the hands of Cape Town All Stars at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town last Saturday, when they meet in their NFD match at the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Leopards and Amazulu have only pride at stake as they are both out of the promotional play-off race.

The majority of the Leopards’ players will be available for selection tomorrow, including Jonathan King and Meshack Maphangule, who were out of action for several matches because of injuries. The only players who are still nursing injuries are Leonard Ntshangase and Marks Munyai.

Lidoda Duvha must keep a watchful eye on Amazulu's top strikers, Siyabonga Nomvete and Marc Van Heerden. The combination of Leopards’ U/23 strikers, Ivan Mahangwahaya and Bongani Manana and Themba Mabuyango, is expected to keep the Amazulu defence running for cover to the bitter end.

Moroka Swallows, who spoiled Mbombela United’s party by beating them 1-0 last weekend, will host Vasco da Gama at the Dobsonville Stadium. African Warriors are expected to use everything within their reach when they host Santos at the Charles Mopedi Stadium in Phuthaditshaba. Warriors are fighting for survival at the bottom of the log.

Mbombela United will fly to Cape Town, where they will test their strength against Milano United at the Athlone Stadium. The league title favourites, Baroka FC, will be away to meet Royal Eagles at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. Mthatha Bucks and Cape Town All Stars will meet at the Mthatha Stadium.

Sunday will see Witbank Spurs take on Thanda Royal Zulu at the Puma Rugby Stadium in Emalahleni. FC Cape Town and Highlandspark will fight for points in Cape Town.
