The Khubvi Tournament champions, Phandulaluvalo FC.

Phandulaluvalo are the Khubvi champs

 

Phandulaluvalo FC were crowned the champions of the Khubvi Soccer Tournament at the Khubvi Benjies grounds last Sunday. This after they had beaten Lukau FC 2-0 in the final. Both Phandulaluvalo's goals were scored by Avhavhudzani Nembanzanani in the second half.

Phandulaluvalo were presented with a cash prize of R5 000 during a ceremony held at the Benjies Discount World Hall shortly after the final. Phandulaluvalo’s way to the final went via Ficus FC, whom they beat 2-1.

Lukau received R2 500 and Begwa United, who obtained the third position, went home with R1 000. Begwa beat Ficus FC 2-0 in their losers’ final match that was played at the same grounds earlier that day.  

During the ceremony, one of the organizers for the tournament, Mr Trevor Mbedzi, praised the sponsors of the tournament, Benjies Discount World. Mbedzi said that it was praiseworthy that some businessmen are prepared to channel some of their profits towards community development. He appealed to the local communities to support businesspeople who ploughed back a part of their profit to the communities,.

Sixteen teams took part in the tournament. The 16 teams who tried their luck in the tournament are Khubvi Dangerous Darkies, Dolphins FC, Begwa United FC, Musasenda Big V, Ficus FC, Mulodi Freedom Birds, Tshandama Try Together, Lukau FC, Rambuda Young Fighters, Mutale Vikings, Muhuyu Copper Stars, Thenzheni Liverpool, Matangari High Aims, Shadani Dangerous Scorpions, Makonde FC and the champions, Phandulaluvalo FC.
