Another humiliating defeat for Magezi

 

Things are fast moving from bad to worse in the camp of the Polokwane-based NFD side, Magezi FC. After losing 0-3 to Real Kings at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban two weeks ago, Magezi went on drop some more points. They lost 1-6 to Royal Eagles in Pietermaritzburg last Saturday.

Selwyn George led the way with four goals, while the remaining two came via Raymond Monama and Siyanda Ngubo. Magezi’s solitary goal was scored by Kenneth Lesia.

The NFD pace setters, Thanda Royal Zulu, dropped points when they played to a goalless draw with Santos at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Mthatha Bucks used their home-ground advantage to beat Mbombela United 2-1 at the Mthatha Stadium. Mazwi Mcube put the home side in the lead in the 24th minute with a ground cutter. Bongani Ndlovu restored parity with a half volley three minutes before the half-time whistle. Andile Nkokweni was on target for Bucks to bring the half-time score to 2-1.

Lebohang Mabotja, Thembisani Nevhulamba and Sphelele Mkhulise scored when Black Leopards beat FC Cape Town 3-2 at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday. FC Cape Town scored via Andile Khumalo and Tsepo Dladla.

The University of Pretoria did not respond when Witbank Spurs scored two goals at the Puma Rugby Stadium. Zwelethu scored the opening goal with a header after a corner kick in the 24th minute. Bongani Shabalala doubled Spurs’ lead with a long-range volley two minutes before the end of the match.

Cape Town All Stars rose to the occasion and held Jomo Cosmos to a goalless draw at the Olën Park Stadium in Potchefstroom. Milano United and Real Kings shared the spoils when they played to a goalless draw at the Parow Park Stadium in Cape Town.

Amazulu lost 0-1 to Stellenbosch FC in Durban. Junaid Sait scored the visitors’ all important goal in the 78th minute, following a brilliant pass from Jose Abram.
