Huge cash prizes for winners of Marshal Resort Tournament

 

The opening matches of the Marshal Resort Soccer Tournament were played over the past weekend. The tournament was officially launched during a ceremony at the resort in Malavuwe two weeks ago.

Fourteen teams from Malavuwe and the surrounding areas are registered for the tournament. The teams battling it out are Phandulaluvalo FC, Muraga Hazard Hotspurs, Zwaloni United FC, Mbahe Freedom Rebels, Nweli Stone Breakers, Malamangwa Scorching Winter, Mukoma All Stars, Makhuvha Fire Boys, Mphego Real Rovers, Sidou Peace Makers, Matsika Shooting Stars, Sterkstroom Real Chiefs, Ngwenani Young Chiefs and Tshifudi XI Experience.

The winners of the tournament will receive R10 000, a soccer kit, a soccer ball and a floating trophy. R7 500, a soccer kit and a soccer ball await the team that will finish in the second spot, while the third-placed team will receive R5 000, a soccer kit and a soccer ball. The team that will be booted out in the semifinal stage will take home R2 500, a soccer kit and a soccer ball.

Teams booted out of the tournament in the quarterfinal stage will each take home R1 000, a soccer kit and a soccer ball.

Two matches will be played at the Malavuwe Great Movers grounds this weekend. Mphego Real Rovers will battle it out against Sidou Peace Makers tomorrow. Matsika Shooting Stars will take on Sterkstroom Real Chiefs at the same venue on Sunday.

Phandulaluvalo FC registered a historic score when they brutally walloped Muraga Hazard Hotspurs 8-0 in their opening match at Tshifudi grounds last Sunday. The results of last weekend's other matches are: Zwaloni United FC 1, Mbahe Freedom Rebels 0; Nweli Stone Breakers 5, Malamangwa Scorching Winters 4 and Makhuvha Fire Boys 3, Mukoma All Stars 2.
