TSHIVHASE - Twelve Zambian traditional leaders will visit Thovhele Kennedy Midiyavhathu Tshivhase at the Tshivhase Royal house next month.

According to Mr Aifheli Tshivhase from the Tshivhase Royal Council, the Zambian Chiefs, who were expected to land in the country last Saturday, will visit the area on Tshivhase Day, on July 12.

This visit comes after a Contralesa meeting held in Gauteng last year. "The Zambian chiefs realised that Tshivhase, through his Tshivhase Development Foundation Trust, was doing a lot of development to the community. They then decided that they must come and learn how they can copy from us and implement some of our programmes," explained Tshivhase.

The Tshivhase Development Foundation Trust was established in 1994 with the aim of developing the community. Since its establishment, more than twenty classrooms were built for Mphephu, Tshivhase and Matavhela Secondary Schools. Tshivhase said the Zambian chiefs will be briefed about the current and future projects and will be taken through a guided tour around areas of interest in Tshivhase like the Great Lake Dzivhafundudzi, Tshatshingo Potholes and others. Tshivhase once made headlines last month when he became the only traditional leader in Venda to oppose the Chiefs' resolution that Thovhele Toni Mphephu Ramabulana should be the King of Venda.

Tshivhase said Mphaphuli, Mphephu and himself should all be Kings of Venda as the Dzanani Empire collapsed long time ago.

The chiefs' resolution has already been submitted to Premier Ngoako Ramathlodi and the national government.
