MUHUYU - Chief Kennedy Midiyavhathu Tshivhase has made call to all the community members, more especially parents and children, to expose all the child abusers by reporting them to their chiefs or the police.
In his address at Muhuyu Faranani Educare, where he was donating toys on Tuesday morning, Tshivhase stated, it is disturbing that children are being raped by their own parents. "This is totally against our culture. I call upon all chiefs and community members to help the police in fighting this crime," said Tshivhase.
Tshivhase also added people should respect that children have the right to play, to be protected, to be educated, to good health, social and cultural right. He also urged all teachers at all levels to teach the children with dedications, as children are the future leaders.
Tshivhase donated toys worth more than R1 000 to the crèche, from the Tshivhase Development Foundation, which is aimed at helping the community in areas of different needs.
The crèche made an application requesting for donation from Tshivhase sometime last year. Tshivhase also praised the community for their good working relationship with his junior Chief Tshizuwisa Tshivhase, who is the leader of the area.
He also encouraged the parents to be involved in the upbringing and education of their children. He also promised that he would donate something big in the near future.
