Khosi Vho Tshinyiwaho Mmbubana reigns at Tshitomboni

Khosi Vho Tshinyiwaho Mmbubana (25) was installed as the new chief at Tshitomboni Tsha Ha Mmbubana outside Thohoyandou on Friday. Mmbubana’s installation went without a hitch and with blessings from all stakeholders in the community.

Community members attended in their hundreds, singing and dancing in support of their new chief, at the royal Mmbubana traditional homestead.

The community of Tshitomboni had been without a chief since 2005 after the death of Khosi Vho Thinamaano Mmbubana and it was surprising to find the whole community rejoicing. The village was under the supervision of a caretaker chief, Khosi Vho Vhangani Mmbubana, who steered the ship from then up until the installation of the rightful heir last week.

Khosi Vho Mulindathavha Tshinetise, who performed the installation ceremony, told the new chief to remain neutral and not to take sides when trying cases. He advised the new chief to work hand in hand with his family royal council and to keep them abreast of all decisions and plans in his administration.

Tshinetise said they worked peacefully with the new chief’s late father and were still expecting the same from the new chief. “We know you have challenges in this village such as no clinic and no jobs. We are trying our best to engage government to that effect and we are hopeful that a clinic will be built soon,” he said. He said a mall was un-der construction next to Hollywood at Thohoyandou, where many employment opportunities would be created for the local people.

In a well-wishing message from the Mphaphuli Royal Council, Vho Khotsimunene Vho Tshifhiwa Maumela said the installation was long overdue. He thanked Vho Thovhele Nkhaneni Ramovha for not standing in the way of the installation and for his support of the new chief. He said the new chief was taking over at a time when there were challenges such as people’s rights.

In an interview with Mirror, Vhamusanda Vho-Samuel Tshinyiwaho Mmbubana promised his people the best. He indicated that he was looking forward to working with the community. He said development in his area could not be a one-man show and he needed all stakeholders to be united and work as a unit. He said the community should expect good things and that he had many plans for his people.

Outgoing caretaker chief Khosi Vho Vhangani Mmbubana said he would be ready to assist the new chief whenever he needed help. The new khadzi is Ntikedzeni Mmbubana and the ndumi is Thivhangiswi Mmbubana.
