Fighters held United to a draw

Muswodi Happy Fighters held the log leaders, Musina United, to 1-all draw in a Safa Vhembe SAB match, played at the Musina MTD Stadium on Saturday.
The game was equally contested, although United had the upper hand in the first half. The players of Fighters displayed their rough skills from the onset in a bid to frustrate their opponents. They did not get far with their wrongdoings, as the referee, Mr Pollen Sibara, flashed two yellow cards in quick succession. The first player to go into the referee’s book was Ntsieni Mankwewho, who tackled Derrick Mafela from behind in the 17th minute. Obrey Ndou was also booked six minutes later. He obstructed Olva Chauke in the danger zone and for that reason he was lucky to escape with yellow.
United were very strong on the attack in the last half. Muswodi should have scored in the 40th minute, but their kingpin, Lucky Netshiungani, shot wide.
The next player who went into the referee's book was Thanyani Mudau (United), who intentionally handled the ball.
The second half was characterised by wasted chances in the United camp. They showed a spirit of commitment from the onset. Althoug Fighters showed cohesion in all department throughout the match, their striker Kenneth Siobo's performance was outstanding. Siobo was everywhere, giving support to both his midfielders and making sure that his danger area was always clean.
United scored via Joel Goba, who headed home in the 85th minute. A few minutes later, Fighters equalised from a free kick. Hymer Munyai scored from the spot. After the goal, the match was stopped for five minutes when players of United accused the assistant referee of favouritism. Joel Goba was finally red-carded for assaulting the assistant referee.
