Pillars now Dynamos' biggest threat

THOHOYANDOU – With only three matches before they complete their league programme for the season, Dynamos are still not on the safe side, although they are still at the top of the Inland Stream of the Premier First Division.

The pride of Giyani are leading the pack with 56 points gained from 27 matches. Unlike in the previous weeks where Bloemfontein Celtic and Highlandspark Silver Stars threatened to take over the leadership in case Dynamos dropped league points, Pietersburg City Pillars have now moved to the second spot.

They are three points behind Dynamos. They have played the same number of matches. Highlandspark Silver Stars are in third place despite the fact that they won their fixture against Mabopane Young Masters last week.

The odds are against Bloemfontein Celtic. They were in second place last week and have now dropped to the fourth spot. This follows their 2-2 draw against Thembisa City Sharks at Thembisa Stadium last Saturday. Four teams, Mamelodi Juventus, Katlehong City, Alexandra United and Witbank Black Aces are fighting for survival at the bottom of the log.

In the Coastal Stream of the Premier First Division African Wanderers are leading. They have 49 points in hand. They are being followed by Avendale Athletico who are seven points behind. Wanderers need one victory to celebrate their promotion to the elite league.
