Dynamos have reason to celebrate despite losing against Stars

GIYANI – Dynamos Football Club have good reason to celebrate despite the fact that they lost their final Castle Premiership League match against Highlandspark Silver Stars at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday. They finally managed to escape the relegation axe after languishing in the danger zone throughout the season.

Dynamos lost 0-2 to their neighbours. Despite giving away vital league points on Sunday, their place in the Castle Premiership League next season is guaranteed. Sunday's result means that the team has finished the season in the third-last position on the log.

Ri khomeni ri nga peli deposited 24 points into their league account throughout the season. They won only three of their 30 matches and drew 15. Teams that have been relegated from the elite league are Hellenic and Zulu Royals.

Hellenic lost 0-2 to Ajax Cape Town last Sunday. Zulu Royals were the hardest hit as they were mercilessly doomed 1-8 by Supersport United at the Securicor Stadium in Pretoria. Zulu Royals and Hellenic finished their league programmes with 22 points each.

As if they were the winning side, the officials, players and supporters for Dynamos were celebrating at the stadium at the end of their game against Silver Stars on Sunday. Their celebrations started after receiving the news that Hellenic and Zulu Royals have lost their matches as well.

Unlike last season where Black Leopards narrowly escaped relegation, they have managed to book a place in the SAA Supa 8 KO competition this season. Kaizer Chiefs Football Club are the 2003/2004 season champions. They last won the league title 12 years ago
