POLOKWANE - Different municipal and provincial traffic officers, who finished a six-month training course at the Limpopo Traffic College at Manenu in the Mutale area, received their qualifications during a ceremony at the Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane last Friday.

During the ceremony, the MEC for Transport, Mr Stanley Motemele, said that in his budget speech of 2004/5, he had made a commitment to facilitate the creation of 14 000 jobs in the coming five years through a variety of projects and programmes. Motemele congratulated the graduates who finished their courses.

He added that, amongst the many projects, was the training of 250 traffic officers in the current financial year and his department will meet the target of the training of more than 500 traffic officers in the next 24 months.

Motemele further said that his department will upgrade the facilities of the Limpopo Traffic College. He added that they are going to deal with those who are corrupt and discourage those who are practicing corruption to leave it.
