Last Saturday was a nightmare day for one of the local referees, Mr Avhasei Edgar Simba of Phalama village after officials and fans of Nobela All Stars allegedly barged onto the pitch and assaulted him, accusing him of favouritism.

Referee assaulted in Thufla League match

Sport: The Thulamela Local Football Association League match between Makovha All Stars and Dumasi All Stars which was played at the Dumasi grounds on Saturday (14 May) ended in a 3-3 draw. The match ended in controversy, however, as some of the players and fans of Makhovha accused the referee of favouritism.

SAB League to investigate assault on referee

News: The referee who officiated at the Safa Vhembe SAB league match between Lufule United Artist and Maniini All Blacks, Mr Mpariseni Musekwa, and his two assistants were allegedly assaulted and doused with liquor and his car was smashed at the Lufule grounds on Saturday.
