HA-MACHABA - Three unknown armed men recently went on a crime spree around the Machaba area.
According to a police spokesperson, the suspects are still at large as no arrests have been made. He said that the police are looking for a certain Mr Molatelo Mafhata, as they believe he can assist them in their investigation following the crimes.
The suspects were allegedly armed with an assortment of weapons ranging from knives and tools that were identified as those commonly used by criminals during housebreaking.
On April 14 at 19:00, the three heavily armed men confronted Mr Steve Ramapulana, a night watchman, at a farm belonging to Mr Hendrik Kruger. The suspects allegedly stabbed him several times. The same suspects surfaced at a nearby farm. They allegedly broke into a hut where two Zimbabweans were sleeping, overpowered them and threatened to harm them.
They took several goods, including a shotgun. One of the watchmen was seriously wounded after he was hacked and stabbed.
A spokesperson for the police has requested members of the community to come forward with any information that could lead to the possible arrest of the suspects. He said all the information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
