Bucs beat Muraleni after good fightback

Gogobole Bucs proved that they are a force to be reckoned with when they came back from 0-2 and finally won the Limpopo Dairy League match 3-2 when they beat Muraleni Young Rebellions at the Gogobole grounds on Saturday.

Rebellions' defender, Mavhungu Mpehphu, was the first to go into the referee's book. He tackled Tshimomo Mbambu from behind and the referee, Mr Innocent Ravhuhali, had a brief talk with him before flashing a yellow card. The Muraleni lads missed a fortune when their left flank, Brico Muthumuni, released a volley that hit the crossbar and bounced back into the field of play in the 12th minute. Sydney Mashau, the Bucs' midfielder, was also booked for foul play.

Rebellions were the first to score via Lawrence Tshifura in the 22nd minute. He caught the Bucs keeper, Khongelani Baloyi, off guard and unleashed a powerful ground cutter from outside the box. Tshifura completed his brace in the 30th minute after a scramble.

The home team introduced two new faces early in the second half. Fhulufhedzisani Ramphai and Mbulaheni Mhlongo came on for Sydney Rambuda and Lutendo Mabasa respectively. This proved to be a wise move on the part of the Bucs' technical staff as the presence of these players forced the Rebellions defence to make all sorts of mistakes.

Godfrey Thavhana of Rebellions was red-cared for a second bookable offence.

Mbulaheni Mashau scored his team's first goal after he finished off a marvellous pass from Elelwani Marubini. In the 67th minute, Tshimomo Mbambu scored for Bucs from a place kick in the 70th minute. Try Sebola finished off a rebound, following an attempt by Rambuda Maphaha five minutes before full-time.
