Gospel singer dreams of reaching people

Up-and-coming gospel star Robert Muedi, who initially performed under the name S Vuyo, says he needs help to realize his dream of reaching out to people.

He says this could be realized if his latest DVD and CD could be launched officially and distributed countrywide. He released a monster hit, Ndi A Livhuwa, last year, Muedi (26) hails from Tshidzivhe, a mountainous village in Venda. He recently changed his name to Robbie M and said his music would make a huge impact on the market if it could be properly promoted. “I am not working and I struggled very hard to have my latest CD and DVD recorded. If it were not for the help that I got from people like businessman Fulufhelo Madida of  Ginseka Consortium, I would not have succeeded,” he said.

He said he knocked on many doors to seek help, but many just promised yet did not fulfil their promises. “Music is a very difficult business to be involved in. With piracy taking place all over, it is difficult to make ends meet. What will help me now is to get a sponsor to assist in the launch of my latest album, Arise and Shine.

“I have planned the launch for October, but up until now I do not have anything in my pocket, and if I do not get assistance, my dreams will go up in smoke, “ he said.

“My new music is very good and I have all the hope that people will love it. With the necessary support, this album and DVD could take me to greater heights. It would be an understatement if I do not thank Fulufhelo Madida for his contribution to the latest album. He sacrificed a lot and paid for my recording and the shooting of the DVD. I am so much indebted to him, and I will always be grateful for what he did for me,” added Muedi.

Those wishing to assist can do so by contacting him at 079 660 2009 or Madida at 079 554 7760.
