Liverpool are the Solly's Champ of Champs

HAMANENZHE – Manenzhe Liverpool are the new Solly's Discount World Soccer League Champ of Champs.

They were engaged in round robin matches with the other four teams during the past weeks in order to determine the overall winner from the five Solly's Discount Soccer World League streams.

The team from the Niani area has managed to win two of their four matches and drew one. They beat Hill Zebras Football Club 3-1 at the Tshifulanani grounds and crushed P&L Mighty Rock Football Club 5-2 at the Manenzhe grounds.

They shared the spoils with Mulamula United at the Mulamula grounds, following their 2-2 draw. The only match that they had lost was against MTM United Brothers. They lost 0-1. Manenzhe Liverpool will receive a cheque to the value of R10 000 and a floating trophy during the league's prize-giving ceremony that will be held on a date and venue still to be announced.

Liverpool and the other four teams that were competing in the Champ of Champs matches have gained promotion to the Castle Regional League. According to one of the officials for Liverpool, Mr Edward Muleba, they are fully prepared for the Castle Regional League heat.

"We are not only going to add the number for the Castle Regional League affiliates, but every team shall feel our presence as we are currently busy assembling a squad that will not be easy to conquer," he said. He stated that they have talented players in Zane Khorommbi, Edwin Ramphabana, Albert Mudau and Morris Mboweni who can make things happen.

When asked as to how they will manage to maintain their Castle Regional League status without a sponsor, Mr Muleba said that they were going all out searching for a "good Samaritan" who can assist them financially. Mr Titus Netshipale is the coach of the team.
