LOUIS TRICHARDT - Solly's Discount World will continue sponsoring the SAFA Northern Province East Region this year. This was announced by the Managing Director of Solly's Discount World, Mr Solly Noor, during the prize giving ceremony held at Bergwater Hotel on Monday evening.

Noor congratulated SAFA-NPER for developing the talent of the youth and stated that the association's administration is running very well. He further indicated that he will plough back into the community, which makes his business a success. He has been a sponsor of local sports for more than thirty years.

The MEC of Health and Welfare, Mr Sello Moloto, who is presently acting as MEC of Sports in the Limpopo Province was the guest speaker. He stated that it is important that future stars' talent should be identified at grassroots level. He applauded Solly's Discount World for helping to identify the talent of the region's youth and added that the youth of this region should be proud of their talent and that they should be exposed to bigger teams.

"Government alone cannot meet all the needs of its people, except when public partnerships are the desired objectives." Moloto said.

Eighty-one teams shared R140 000 during the prize giving ceremony. The winner of the Champ of Champs award, Mphambo Kill Them All received R10 000 and a floating shield. The second position went to Rhungulani All Stars, who went home with R7 000 in cash. The third position went to Tshimbupfe Disco Stars, who received R6 000 in cash.
