Hard-fought victory for Madombidzha

Madombidzha Arsenal fought hard to earn a 2-0 victory over Tshikhwani Stone Breakers in their Safa Vhembe MMK Insurance Brokers match played at Madombidzha on Saturday.

The match was a do-or-die affair for Arsenal, as a defeat would pull them out of the title race. Breakers missed countless scoring opportunities in the opening minutes. Godfrey Magera unleashed prematurely instead of moving closer towards the keeper.

Jimmy Ramabubuda of Arsenal was booked in the first half for tackling Nestar Nemalili roughly.

Arsenal found the net in the 56th  minute via Eric Sefularo. He beat the offside trap and fooled the keeper, Emmanuel Mashamba, who went in the wrong direction.

The visitors should have equalised in the 60th  minute, but Godfrey Magera shot wide. Dakalo Nwanamidwa found the net after a rebound five minutes later.

Vhutshilo Mavula scored the second goal of his team. He received a square pass from Balanganani Mafela and blasted in a ground cutter from close range. The keeper of Breakers had to stretch to the limit to save Mukondi Tshivhula's volley in the dying minutes.
