Makhado Post Office again named best in Limpopo

The Makhado Post Office in Louis Trichardt has been named best Post Office in Limpopo for this financial year, with an average score of 99,18% in the Post Office’s oversight system for service quality.

According to Ndala Mnisi, executive in charge of the Post Office nationally, the Post Office has implemented a national campaign to improve service.

“Our outlets are the point of contact between us and the client, and we are working hard to encourage good service,” he said, adding that “recognising good service at outlets is a very important part of the Post Office’s drive to encourage good customer service.”

Mnisi says the quality-oversight programme was not only meant to check customer service and compliance with operational requirements. It is also meant to standardise service levels.

“Service at every post office must be excellent, no matter whether the branch is big or small. We check things that matter to the clients - whether offices are clean, open on time, and whether queues are handled properly,” Mnisi said.

The service quality assessors also check for adherence to financial requirements, on-time mail sorting and general office housekeeping.

Dries Rossouw, manager at the Makhado Post Office, gave his co-workers much of the credit for the award. “We work together as a team and we never forget that, in the end, we really work for our customers,” he said.

Rossouw is not a newcomer to accolades. In 2010 he was named Corporate Manager of the Year by the Soutpansberg Chamber of Commerce.
