All local soccer lovers will be heading to the Mabirimisa grounds in the Nzhelele Valley on Sunday (December 26), for the much-talked-about Denga Mabirimisa Soccer Spectacular.
According to an organiser, Mr Takalani Rabali, four teams will take part in the prestigious competition. The four teams that will fight for the championship in the tournament are Rabali Pull Together, Luvhalani Sunshine Pirates, Mabirimisa Powerline and Tshikuwi Stone Breakers.
The toss will be conducted at the grounds at 08:00. The first semi-final match is scheduled to kick-off at 10:00.
According to the rules of the tournament, there will be no extra time in the event the teams play to a draw at the end of the regulated time; instead, they will go straight to the penalty shoot-out stage.
The second semi-final match will start at 12:00, while the final is scheduled to start at 15:30. The champions of the tournament will go home with R3 000 and a soccer kit. The runners-up will be presented with R2 000 and a soccer kit.
According to Rabali, the prize-giving ceremony will be held at the grounds shortly after the final.
The tournament will be sponsored by the local bus company, Mabirimisa Bus Service. According to Rabali, the tournament will become an annual event, with the sponsorship increasing over time.
