The accident happened on Wednesday morning, while Van Heerden was transporting three children to Louis Trichardt Primary School. The ambulance, travelling southwards along Krogh Street, crashed into Van Heerden’s vehicle as he was busy crossing along Erasmus Street.
After crashing into Van Heerden’s vehicle, the ambulance veered off, hit a parked vehicle, ramped the pavement and crashed into a stone wall of the municipality’s outside parking area. Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured.
