All Stars crush Vondo Vibes in Thulfa match

Sibasa All Stars managed to collect the maximum points at the expense of Vondo Vibes in their Thulamela Local Football Association League match at the Bergvlam grounds on Saturday.

All Stars were 2-1 ahead when the referee, Deon Mphuma, blew the final whistle.

The score was not a true reflection of the game as the home side dominated proceedings throughout the game. As if they were hypnotized, the players of Vibes lost touch when they reached the opponents’ danger area.

Khakhathi Nevondo of Vibes missed a fortune in the 14th minute. He beat everybody, including the keeper, and caused an upset by shooting wide from the goal line. All Stars regrouped from behind in their search for goals. They were rewarded with a goal in the 34th minute. Kwena Nkwe scored from the place kick.

Ivan Mulaudzi of All Stars was booked for a dangerous tackle on Philemon Lukoto in the 38th minute. The score was still 1-0 at the end of the first half. A defender of All Stars, Zwiitwaho Sithubabila, was lucky to escape with yellow after handling the ball intentionally.

Both sides effected some changes to their original lineups earlier in the last half. All Stars were reduced to 10 men in the 67th minute. Obidia Dagada was given his marching orders after tackling Bongani Sithole the rough way. That did not stop them from scoring their second goal. Kwena Nkwe beat the keeper with a ground cutter from outside the box.

The only Vibes’ player who was booked for a dangerous tackle was Philemon Lukoto. Vondo Vibes’ solitary goal came in the 76th minute. Khakhathi Nevondo blasted in a rocket after a scramble within the box.
