“Rising political star” - killed in accident

 

As women the country over are celebrating Women's Month, the Magadani family of Tshisahulu and the ANCYL in Limpopo have been plunged into mourning.

This follows the death of one of the province's rising political stars, Masindi Magadani. Magadani (26) was a leader of the ANCYL and also a member of the Provincial Task Team. She was killed in a vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon. According to reports, her vehicle was hit from behind and she lost control, her vehicle overturned and she was thrown from the car.

The accident happened between Makhado (Louis Trichardt) and Polokwane. She died at the scene of the accident.

Soon after news of her death was made known, tributes started pouring in. One of the first groups to visit the family was the ANCYL Limpopo Task Team. A family member, Chief Norman Makumbane, also arrived to support the family.

Grieving family members said her death came as a big shock. Her sister, Mashudu, said Masindi came back on Friday as they were having a family function at the weekend. “We had a good time with her and she was in good spirits and in a joking mood as usual.”

“We are so saddened by her sudden death. It seemed as she had a premonition about her death. During our gathering, she greeted all family members one by one, as if she was just saying goodbye. We will remember her for her jokes, and she was always happy and full of love for her people. She was a unifier of the whole family and we will miss her dearly,” said Mashudu.

At the time of going to press, no details of funeral arrangements were available.
