Louis Trichardt will play host to a unique debate surrounding the theme Did Jesus claim to be God? on 7 February.

Residents are invited to join the conversation as a Muslim and a Christian discuss their views on the nature of Jesus Christ. Was Jesus a mere prophet, as Muslims believe, or is He God in the flesh, as believed by Christians? In order to answer this question, Maulana Abu Bakr Akoo and Pastor Paul Schlehlein will be debating the claims of Jesus from the Bible.

This promises a debate not to be missed, with renowned linguist and Bible scholar professor emeritus Koos van Rooy of the Reformed Church acting as moderator. The debate is scheduled for two hours, followed by 30 minutes of questions from the audience. “We welcome those of all faiths to this historic event. Bring your friends and join us afterwards for refreshments,” invite the organisers.
