New offering from reggae sensation Zion Soldier

Reggae musician Elekanyani Tshabuse, aka Zion Soldier, is fast becoming a household name in the reggae music community.

Born at Dzingahe outside Thohoyandou, his singing career kicked off in 2011. With four albums under his belt and nominations for Satmas 2012 and for 2017 and 2018 Tshima awards, Zion Soldier is arguably one of the most sought-after artists for appearances.

After the successes of his previous albums, Shumela Venda, Marching to Zion and Bvelani Phanda Ma Africa, Tshabuse has bounced back smoking fire with the release of his latest offering, Shavha Mbevha.

To show how popular the album has become, just a few months after its release, the album has been nominated for the 2018 Tshima Awards in the category of Best Tshivenda reggae album. Unlike his previous offerings, Tshabuse has featured veterans of the industry such asKhakhathi and Friends and Shufflers Ragimana on this album,.

Shavha Mbevha and Makhadzi are two of the very popular tracks on the 10-track album.

Tshabuse said he was greatly humbled by the response he had got so far about his new album. "The album is getting massive airplay from most of the country’s radio stations, with the SABC's Phalaphala FM taking the lead. The title track Shavha Mbevha is also making ripples, with my fans not getting enough of it. This is by far my best offering, and as of now, I am busy shooting its video and preparing material for my forthcoming album, due for release during the Easter of 2019.” He added that he wanted to release an album every year.

All songs on this album were composed by Tshabuse and it was produced and recorded by master bassist and engineer Mr Mulalo Mukwevho at the Burning Shack Studios in Thohoyandou. The album is available at Mbengis and Dakota Music.

For bookings and copies, Tshabuse can be phoned at 079 702 4324 and 079 065 7996.
