Khathu's book of inspiration

When Khathutshelo Ravhura was young, she had a vision of motivating people. Little did she know that she would be an author one day.

Ravhura (40), who hails from Ravele village, recently released a motivational book entitled Expose your uniqueness. The book, released in December last year, motivates all genders to appreciate the importance of life. The book focuses on explaining to people what their purpose in life should be. “A person should have a vision and know what life entails for him or her,” she said.

Ravhura said the release of the book set her up as a motivational speaker - something that she had been doing as a pastor. She said that she discovered her motivational gift when she was at the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa’s headquarters in Tshwane.

“At a young age I realised I had leadership qualities within me, because in everything I did with my friends they always wanted me to be the team leader,” she said. “My motivational gift started showing when I was registered as life coach at the Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA).”

She said that her pastor, George Mahlobo, who is the president of the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa, had encouraged and inspired her to follow her dream of being a motivational speaker. “God used me to change lives through my preaching and prayers, and now He will change more lives through my written words,” she said.

Her book encourages people to develop their inner selves before showing their talents off to the world, and not to try and fly until their wings are strong enough. “It will instil discipline, among many other virtues, among young people,” she said. “I am very grateful to God that I was able to discover my gift as an author.”
