Lady Vee finds the essence of life in music

Vhahangwele Aryan Ndou (23), better known as Lady Vee, has the gift of producing an authentic, unique sound through her music that will surely take her even further in her career.

Lady Vee, a resident of Mulima Pfananani village, found the essence of life in music some eight years ago and became popular with songs such as Lufuno, Munna wanu, Red wine (ft Master Azart) and Vhabebi. “Music has been a part of my life since I was a young child, and it helped me understand the world better,” she said. “Just imagine the world without the art of music – would it make any sense? I don’t think so.”

People in her village felt fortunate and blessed to have such a talented singer among them who sang such unique music. “This was something that made them feel like celebrating me more, because I was not a copycat,” she said. “It is so heart-warming when one’s people get to celebrate the talent that one has, and this kind of appreciation makes one feel contented. I am really the happiest artist in the world!”

Lady Vee, who attended Maanda Mahulu Primary and matriculated at Vhaluvhu Secondary School, said that many of her songs were about relationships. “I feel that we need more love. We must love each other from the core of our hearts if we want to create a world of peace and harmony.”

She strongly feels that that music can bring people closer and help heal the broken-hearted, and that is why she makes sure that her music is properly arranged with positive lyrics. “Music is my world,” she said. “Music gives me the freedom to express myself and keeps me company when I am alone.”

Lady Vee was mentored by Gudani Ramango, who still gives her the best advice regarding music. “He helps me make better decisions when it comes to recording specific songs and signing different contracts for gigs,” she said.

Tshifhiwa Mukwevho

Tshifhiwa Given Mukwevho was born in 1984 in Madombidzha village, not far from Louis Trichardt in the Limpopo Province. After submitting articles for roughly a year for Limpopo Mirror's youth supplement, Makoya, he started writing for the main newspaper.
