Gospel-music lovers should brace themselves for the fourth album of Lutendo France Manyama, known as Fura Manyama, titled Black darkness is covering the world, which is to be released in three weeks’ time.

Manyama, born and bred at Ha-Mulima village outside Louis Trichardt, is a social worker by profession. He started his music career with the local Bafana Boys Choir in 1994 when he was 13 years old. The choir used to perform at social gatherings and funerals in his village, but in 2010 he left to start a career as a solo gospel singer.

His debut album, Jesu dzula na nne, was released in 2011. “Releasing the first album is always very stressful because you don’t know how people will react to your music. Before the final release of the album, I spent days praying for the Lord to lead me on this new musical journey as I was not sure how it would go. In the end, Yesu dzula na nne was received with acclaim by gospel-music lovers. That is how I gained the courage to return to the studio for my second album.”

His second album, Yehova mulamuleli, was released in 2017. “The second album did just as well as the first. I have learnt that if you pray hard, God will bless you with everything you need. My albums were well received because I serve a living God,” he said.

In 2020, Manyama released yet another album, called Rea o rapela Morena. “This album was done under difficult conditions because of the Covid regulations. However, once again I asked God to bless my project and it did exceptionally well, despite the challenges I faced.”

Black darkness is covering the world, he said, is dedicated to all his loyal fans who have supported him over the years. “I made sure that the album is different from the previous ones, so I added some new sounds to keep the fans captivated.”

Fura Manyama’s music is available in digital music stores. Follow him on Facebook (Fura Manyama Gospel) or contact him on Tel 076 328 1757 (voice calls and WhatsApp).
