A 29-year-old man from Nkayeni village outside Beit Bridge is fighting for his life, after two men who accused him of impregnating their sister, stabbed him in the head with a knife, before trying to slice off his private parts.
It is reported that the man was on his way to a local school to attend some competitions being held at the school. On the way he met the two men, who allegedly blocked his way and started throwing insults at him.
The suspects, aged 19 and 22, then allegedly accused him of impregnating their sister. Before he could explain or tell his side of the story, the two men allegedly started assaulting him with their fists. He was then stabbed and the two men grabbed his private parts and tried to slice them off.
Police spokesperson Insp Billie Dube said they were investigating the case. “The victim was saved by his cousin, who found the two suspects busy attempting to cut off his private parts. The victim’s cousin wrestled with the suspects and they managed to escape,” said Dube.
The two suspects are still at large, while Ndebele was admitted to a local hospital.
