A well-known staff member from Solly’s Discount World, the 36-year-old Mr Abel Baloyi, died on Monday, September 25, after a vehicle accident on the road between Makhado (Louis Trichardt) and Elim.

Mr Baloyi was a well-known face at Solly’s Discount World for the past five years.

According to Mr Solly Noor, Abel’s death came as a very big shock to himself, his family and fellow staff members. He said that it is almost impossible to believe that Abel is gone as he was still so full of life.

Mr Noor said he last saw Abel on Saturday, September 23, when the shop closed for the long weekend. On that same day, Abel had told Mr Noor of how happy he was with his life and that everything was finally coming together for him.

According to Mr Noor, Abel was also very excited about having his own vehicle - one he only purchased about 10 days before his fatal accident in the same vehicle. Mr Baloyi apparently lost control of his vehicle after which it crashed into two electricity poles.

Mr Noor said that Abel would always be remembered as a happy-go-lucky person who was always smiling. Mr Noor said he was a very good salesman.
