The Waterpoort police have arrested two Zimbabwean nationals who allegedly stabbed and killed a 20-year-old man at Waterpoort over the weekend. The two suspects, the Sithole brothers, Moreboys (26) and Shaben (23), briefly appeared in the Louis Trichardt Magistrate´s Court on Tuesday, facing a charge of murder.
It is alleged that the two stabbed and killed Mr Cyril Ndou (20) at Scrabjei Farm on Friday night.
According to a police report, the two were coming from a nearby farm when they visited Scrabjei Farm. "The two brothers were drunk when they visited the farm. It was reported that the two had been causing trouble, provoking people on the farms before the incident," said the spokesperson for the Waterpoort police, Warrant Officer Ezekiel Leshiba.
He said the Ndou was relaxing on the farm when the two started fighting with him. It ended when they allegedly stabbed him several times all over his body and he died at the scene of the incident. "Ndou´s lifeless body was discovered on Saturday morning, but it seemed the incident had taken place during the night, according to the evidence provided," he said.
The two were arrested in Musina on Sunday when they were trying to cross the border back to Zimbabwe. Leshiba is encouraging community members in the Waterpoort area to continue working closely with the police in the war against crime.
The deceased, Cyril Ndou, was also a Zimbabwean national.
The case has been postponed for further investigations.
