Anwani is crowned the first Miss Pick Me Up

The 20-year-old Ravele Anwani was crowned the first Miss Pick Me Up 2019/20 during a beauty pageant that was recently held in the Vleifontein Community Hall.

A resident of Mashamba village, Anwani said that she wanted to be an example to all the girls and show them that one’s background did not determine one’s future. She believes that nothing will stop her from realising her dream of becoming Miss Universe.

"Miss Pick Me Up 2019/2020 has been one of the greatest achievements I have accomplished in 2019," she said. "I've always wished to own such a title from my childhood, but I did not really have motivation, until I came to realise that motivation was not what I needed but the courage to step up, dream bigger and believe in myself."

Rendani Tshibvumo (18) was the first princess, Vhuthu Ramakuela (17) the second princess and Winnie Mashaba (18) won the public choice award.

The Pick Me Up founder, Mpho Lemmy Masia, extended his gratitude to all stakeholders who had made sure that the event was a success.
