Installation of new pump to cause water shortage

The Vhembe District Municipality has warned residents of Louis Trichardt and Tshikota that water shortages may occur as a result of maintenance work at the Albasini water-treatment plant today, 19 November.

The municipality issued a notice stating that they will be installing a big new water pump at the plant. “The pump will boost water supply to Louis Trichardt and Tshikota Township. Due to the installation of the new pump, water supply will be interrupted, hence we request residents to be patient,” said the municipality and apologised for the inconvenience.

The installation will take place from 06:00 and water supply will resume immediately after the connection of the big pump to the supply line.
