Basel and Magezi share the glory

Sport  Date: 03 February 2012

After losing two matches in a row, Basel FC made a comeback and held Magezi FC to a 1-1 draw in their Vodacom Promotional League match at the Seshego Stadium on Saturday.

The result is as good as a victory for Basel, as it was an away fixture for them.

Basel are now lying in the 10th position on the log with 15 points accumulated from 13 outings. Winners Park continued to pave their way up when they snatched a 1-0 victory at the expense of Fanang Diatla. Although it was a home match for them, Winners Park did not find it easy as they managed to score their winning goal nine minutes before the referee blew the final whistle.

The Dolphins performed beyond expectations when they unexpectedly held the defending champions, Baroka FC, to a 2-2 draw at the Seshego Stadium. Baroka have reason to regard themselves lucky as they were trailing 0-2 at one stage.

The other match which ended in a 2-2 draw was between Blue Rocks and Modimolle Aces. It was played at the Nkowankowa Stadium in Tzaneen.

Mighty FC beat Phungo All Stars 2-1. Nobela All Stars drew 1-1 with Dinare FC at the Malamulele Stadium, while Giyani Hotspurs beat Lephalale Young Killers 1-0 at the Giyani Stadium.
