Tshifhire Northern Brothers will represent the Vhembe Region in the provincial promotional play-off matches that will be staged in two weeks' time. They beat Mulodi Freedom Birds 4-0 in the regional final at the Makwarela Stadium on Saturday.

Northern Brothers did not stop fighting, although they missed two sure goals within the first 10 minutes. As if they were hypnotised, Sello Molewa and Gift Matsena fumbled at the goal finish in the sixth and ninth minute respectively. It was in the 34th minute that Freedom Letsekga scored Brothers’ opening goal. The keeper of Freedom Birds, Khethani Manenzhe, missed the ball and Letsekga capitalised on the setback and scored easily.

Freedom Birds committed suicide by playing long balls from behind, a pattern that favours Northern Brothers, due to their height advantage. Freedom Letsekga was on target in the 64th minute. Cassius Ramaremela of Northern Brothers was warned with a card for obstructing Mulalo Nyadzane.

Northern Brothers put matters beyond doubt when Sello Molewa scored. He caught the keeper of Birds napping and scored with a half volley. Evans Mosipi was brought down within the box and the referee awarded a penalty to Brothers. Mphariseni Neluvhada scored from the penalty spot to bring the final score to 4-0.

In the losers final match for the Vhembe SAB Regional promotional play-offs at the FNB Makwarela Stadium on Saturday, Tshakhuma RO United beat Mukula Young Santos 1-0. The boys were separated from the men in the 68th minute. Khathutshelo Mudau, who came on as a substitute, sent in a rocket, following a square pass from the right-footed Ndivhuwo Neshidongololwe.
