Victory for Stars

Makhitha Oscar Stars collected important points by beating MML 3-1 in a Safa Vhembe MMK Administrators league match at the Makhitha grounds on Sunday.

MML created some promising moves from behind in the opening minutes. Their overlapping midfielder, Phumudzo Matshisevhe, had his chance in the 15^thminute. He received a neat pass from Joseph Makokoko and shot wide from just outside the box.

Stars knocked on MML's door in the 24^thminute. Mpho Ndou tried his luck from the edge of the box. His volley hit the crossbar and bounced out of the field of play for a goal kick.

Stars were rewarded with a goal in the 29^thminute. Tshedza Mutandari was on target, following a mix-up within the box. Stars’ second goal came via Leavy Matshavha, whose close-range ground cutter was too hot for the MML keeper, Lebo Masetami, to handle.

In the 64^thminute, Tshedza Mutandari of Stars beat the keeper with a volley after beating the offside trap. Khuthadzo Neluheni of MML scored the only goal for his team late in the game.

Kaizer Nengovhela

Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
